Something for the weekend: US publications USA Today and The Tennessean are seeking two reporters to capture the music, fashion, cultural and economic influences of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé and be compensated for it. If you’re a member of the Beyhive or a self-confessed Swiftie, then read on!

The publications are looking for an energetic writer, photographer and social media pro who can provide content across multiple platforms related to the two artists. The position is remote, but the successful applicant must be willing to travel internationally.

If they’re ready for it, the Taylor Swift reporter will explore Swift’s ongoing tour and upcoming album release, while also providing analysis of her music, career and the effect she has across the music and business worlds.

Meanwhile, the Beyoncé reporter wanting to pay their telephone and automobile bills will chronicle the big moments of her career. This includes the end of her Renaissance tour, its $1 billion in sales, her next ventures, and her effect on the industries in which she operates and society.

Requirements include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, at least five years’ journalism experience working in a digital-first newsroom, proven success in creating relevant, shareable stories, a clear and concise writing style, and a nose for finding interesting stories.

Applicants should also be able to report big stories in fresh and relevant ways, work with a team of reporters, editors, photographers and producers, and have a thorough understanding of metrics and data to understand audience behaviour and inform coverage decisions.

To apply, you need to submit a written CV that is one to two pages long, a video covering letter explaining why you are perfect for the role and links to four to eight online samples of work that best reflects what you can do. Successful candidates will receive an hourly rate ranging between $21.63 and $50.87 (£17.43 and £41) depending on experience.

If you’re crazy in love with the idea of being a Beyoncé reporter or know all too well that you would be the best Taylor Swift journalist, then we at Employee Benefits wish you the best of luck!
