Scandinavian Airlines cabin crew workers based at Heathrow have accepted a pay rise and improved terms and conditions, ending ongoing strike action.

The staff, who are members of the union Unite, have agreed to accept an 8% pay increase across all grades for the next 14 months. They will also see their overtime pay rise from £79 up to a maximum of £240, along with receiving two additional days of annual leave.

Furthermore, an additional pay grade will be introduced to ensure staff are progressing appropriately along pay scales. Management at Scandinavian Airlines have also agreed to attend a two-day workshop with the workers to address their issues with rostering and scheduling.

More than 100 Scandinavian Airlines cabin crew took strike action across the Christmas and New Year period, walking out on 22, 23, 24 and 26 December 2025. This was because they were unhappy with a previous offer from their employer, which was a 3.5% pay increase. They argued this was lower than the current inflation rate of 4.3% and it was not being backdated to their pay anniversary date.

A Scandinavian Airlines spokesperson said: ”SAS is pleased that a solution has been reached. The action has now been concluded, allowing SAS to focus fully on operations and serving customers.”

Sharon Graham, general secretary at Unite, added: “This is a well-earned victory at Scandinavian Airlines for hard working cabin crew who just want to be able to put food on the table and pay their bills.”

Callum Rochford, regional officer at Unite, said: “I’m delighted for our members at Scandinavian Airlines who stood firm against a giant airline and took strike action to make their voices heard. They should be congratulated on their well-deserved pay rise and improved terms.”
