Contract catering business BM Caterers has rolled out an enhanced employee benefits package for its 850 employees in order to reflect its continued commitment to inclusivity.
Titled ‘Pearfect’, the programme includes 24 weeks of fully-paid maternity leave, four weeks of secondary carer leave, and three days of grandparent leave. All of these extend to families welcoming new members through adoption and surrogacy.
It has also introduced four weeks of fully-paid leave for each period of fertility treatment and access to wellbeing perks through Aviva, such as an annual health check, six mental health consultations, six nutritional consultations and two digital GP sessions per year for them or their immediate family.
Murray Soper, head of people and talent at BM Caterers, said: “At BM, we know how important life outside of work is to our BM family. We want all our team members to have a great work-life balance and know they are supported by us, which allows them to bring their best selves to work each day.
“To reflect this, we’ve updated our benefits package to demonstrate our commitment to inclusivity, with the introduction of secondary carer leave to enable partners of any gender supporting someone having a baby, including through surrogacy or adoption, with four weeks of fully paid leave. We’re also providing extra support to team members undergoing IVF treatment and extra time off for grandparents to spend with their new family members.”
BM Caterers offers its employees paid leave for their birthday, wedding or commitment day, one day a year for volunteering, free meals during working hours, life assurance, an employee assistance programme, a bikes-for-work scheme, two annual team party events, discounts and cash back from a range of retail and leisure outlets, masterclasses with Michelin starred chefs and a referral programme for introducing new talent or business leads.
