Anglian Water has reported a mean ethnicity pay gap of 8.4%, up from 6.7% in 2023.

The water supplier’s median ethnicity pay gap was 6.2%, up 0.3% from 5.9% in 2023. Its mean ethnicity bonus gap was 50.4%, up from 48.8% in 2023, and its median ethnicity bonus gap was 49.6%, down from 57.4% the year prior. A total of 95.8% of white and 91.7% of ethnic minority employees received a bonus that year.

Its mean gender pay gap for 2024 was 4.9%, down from 6.5% in 2023, and its median gender pay gap was 11.6%, down from 14% the year prior. Its mean gender bonus gap for the year was 9.5%, down from 13.5% in 2023, and its median gender bonus gap was 6.5%, down from 14.8% the previous year.

Anglian Water’s lower pay quartile comprises 91.8% white employees and 8.2% ethnic minority staff. Its gender split is 48.5% male and 51.5% female. Its upper pay quartile consists of 94.8% white employees and 5.2% ethnic minority staff, with 65.7% male and 34.3% female staff.

The number of employees who recorded their ethnicity rose from 32% in 2020 to 73% in 2024. Meanwhile, the organisation has a higher percentage of males than females in senior positions, at 57.7% and 42.3% respectively. Fewer female and ethnic minority workers received bonuses due to a higher percentage of these groups being new employees.
