Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB) has announced that it has recruited Faran Johnson as its new chief people officer effective today (22 November).
According to the bureau, Johnson is a “highly experienced workplace culture specialist”, with a 30-year career in the public and private sector. She joins following her work on the UK’s response to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic as chief people officer at the UK Health Security Agency, incorporating NHS Test and Trace.
There, she led the people function of the organisation that employed more than 50,000 people and helped to navigate organisational challenges, from mass scale recruitment to compassionate leadership and development of culture and values.
Johnson has also held leadership positions at Channel 4 and Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service. At Channel 4, she implemented a people, culture and organisational model, and as HR director with Her Majesty's Courts and Tribunals Service, led a people and culture policy with the aim to “revolutionise” the way justice is delivered in England and Wales.
Johnson expressed her delight at joining and commented that she cannot wait to get started.
“I’ve been a big admirer of what MIB has achieved in its transformation journey in the last few years and I’m looking forward to playing my part in its continued success as we strive to do our best for the industry and the thousands of innocent victims who need our support every year,” she said.
Dominic Clayden, CEO at MIB, added that he is “excited” to have Johnson join the executive committee and wider MIB team and noted that the organisation has made progress in transforming its culture in recent years.
“I have always believed that it’s the organisations with the right culture that remain relevant, and as an organisation that puts people and culture at the forefront of everything it does, Faran will play a crucial role in continuing to evolve our organisation. I’m sure this next chapter with Faran will be very special indeed,” he said.
