Rachel Clacher

EXCLUSIVE: Telephone and switchboard organisation Moneypenny will provide insight on adopting a successful talent management approach at Employee Benefits Connect 2017.

Rachel Clacher (pictured), director at Moneypenny, which ranked fourth in the Sunday Times' 100 Best Companies List 2017, will lead a session titled ‘Putting people first: the importance of being human’ as part of the talent management conference stream on Wednesday 1 March.

Clacher will highlight why talent management is the responsibility of the entire organisation rather than a task for a specific department, such as HR. She will discuss how employers can create an environment where employees can thrive.

She said: “It’s getting the right people to reach their full potential within an organisation so a business booms. Our job in talent management is to create the environment in which everybody can work to their fullest potential.”

The session will also explore why it is important to find candidates who have the right attitude and values, and the function of a strong workplace culture in subsequently engaging employees with the organisation.

Clacher said: “Talent management is much more than getting competent people in who tick the right boxes in competency matrixes. It’s about getting people in who have the right value set and who have the humility and the integrity to do the right thing by the people who report in to them.”

In addition, Clacher will discuss the role and responsibility of managers in ensuring staff reach their potential.

Clacher added: "People join [organisations] and they leave managers, therefore managers need to be the best they can be [and] they need to be able to empower their people to be the best they can be."

Employee Benefits Connect 2017 will take place on Wednesday 1 March 2017 at the Park Plaza, London.
