Mercedes-Benz truck and van franchise partner EStar has launched a range of new rewards and benefits for its more than 300 employees, including increased maternity pay.
The business, located in North West England and North Wales, brought in three months of full pay and two months of half pay to its maternity offering for employees that have been in their roles for at least two years. This was introduced in order to attract more women to the business. It also introduced two weeks of full paternity pay and a baby gift pack.
According to EStar, the added benefits will be rolled out on a quarterly basis this year, and will also include one additional annual leave day, five days of sick pay for employees who have been in their roles for two years, and three days of compassionate leave for immediate family members, including one day for pet bereavement. It will also introduce one paid charity leave day, a cycle to work scheme, free fresh fruit bowls, and an employee of the month financial reward.
Other benefits currently offered by EStar include a welcome pack for new starters, team social events led by a sports and social committee, free eye tests, a recommend a friend bonus, free parking at all sites, free tea and coffee, and seasonal gifts such as Easter eggs and Christmas vouchers.
In addition, the business rewrote its bonus model to ensure all members of staff benefit from its performance and to reward their hard work.
Kate Howdon, head of HR at EStar, said: “To enhance all of our rewards and benefits this year is a real privilege and reflects the role that our great team has in keeping the commercial vehicle community moving. I’m especially pleased to introduce the rollout of enhanced maternity pay as we believe it is industry-leading, and genuinely demonstrates our passion for supporting women in the commercial vehicle sector.”
