E.On UK employees have raised more than £500,000 for the energy supplier’s national mental health charity partner Mind.

Over the course of its four-year partnership, E.On has raised funds through initiatives such as over £220,000 in match funding and more than £110,000 raised through sponsored challenges and events.

Others include around £55,000 for the Help through Hardship fund, supporting people facing financial and mental wellbeing pressures, and over £30,000 from the donation bag scheme, helping stock Mind shops and fund frontline services.

The donations support mental health helplines, peer support and online communities, and trusted mental health information services across the UK. Funds help the charity to respond to 50,000 more contacts through its Infoline service, keep its Side by Side online peer-support community open for more than a year, and distribute five million pieces of mental health information to schools and communities.

Joanne Horton, head of sustainability at E.On UK, said: “Surpassing the £500,000 donation figure for Mind is an incredible achievement, and one that reflects the passion, generosity and care shown by colleagues right across E.On. Mental health affects every part of society, so supporting Mind’s work has always felt both important and personal. It is a partnership we are incredibly proud of.”

E.On prioritises mental health through its own wellbeing initiatives and support, focusing on people facing fuel poverty, financial stress and life-changing circumstances, which can have a significant impact on mental health. Its Safe and Well Awards and wellbeing education sessions are aimed at increasing mental health conversations, encouraging employees to reach out, support one another, and challenge stigma around mental health problems.
