Logistics firm Crown Worldwide Group uses online mental wellbeing advice and support, along with its internal values to build mental health resilience among its workforce.
The group manages a portfolio of brands including Crown Workspace, Crown World Mobility, Crown Relocations, Crown Records Management, Crown Fine Art, Crown Logistics, Crown Wine Cellars and Exxtra. It has 2,900 UK employees.
In terms of mental health resilience support, it offers 24/7 online mental wellbeing resources, including the Cope Workplace HealthHub, a web-based service providing information, resources and advice to support workplace health. Employees can access more than 1,000 courses relating to mental, physical and financial wellbeing on LinkedIn Learning, and averaged 28 hours of additional learning per person in 2025.
The group also provides access to two employer-funded employee assistance programmes to support staff in emergency situations or with day-to-day issues. The confidential support services offer employees expert advice and emotional support when needed.
Crown Worldwide Group continues to review its processes to seek ways in which it can further improve its offering, says Eileen Girling, regional HR director Europe, Middle East and Africa (Emea).
“We have a fantastic group of 16 mental health first aiders across the UK and Ireland, who we work closely with to ensure we respond to the demands of our workforce and continue to give an outstanding level of support,” she explains. ”Health and wellbeing extend beyond compliance with safety regulations, they encompass various aspects of every employee’s life, including physical and mental health, work-life balance, and financial wellbeing.”
The group has a strong wellbeing focus that is aligned with its values, and benchmarks its practices using the We Invest in Wellbeing standard. Accredited by Investors in People, the standard acknowledges organisations with a proactive and engaged approach to their workforce’s health and wellbeing. Crown received gold accreditation in December 2025, placing it among the top 28% of organisations around the world.
A further benefit for Crown employees is the opportunity to volunteer to support their local community for up to 16 hours each per year. In 2025, staff volunteered with assisting in charity shops, educating primary school children on money management, acting as trustees to a homeless charity, and coaching sports teams, for example.
Not only does this impact the community, but it is evident employees have the energy and passion to engage in positive activities away from their regular place of work, says Girling.
“These volunteering opportunities support mental health resilience by not only making a tangible difference while supporting a good cause, but also helping to foster enhanced relationships with colleagues. This is demonstrated in responses to our annual employee engagement survey, with 81% agreeing that Crown makes a positive impact on people and the planet,” she adds.
