Employee Benefits poll: Just over two-fifths (44%) of employers have noted a take up of mental health benefits of between 0-25%, according to a survey of Employee Benefit readers.

Nearly a quarter (22%) revealed they have seen a take up of 51-75%, and a further 11% reported 76-100% take up of mental health benefits among employees.

The survey found that 22% did not know the take up of their mental health benefits.

In September, Employee Benefits reported that Market Harborough Building Society had signed a mental health charter that demonstrated its commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of its employees.

The charter ensures that Market Harborough Building Society will develop mental health awareness among staff using activities and advocacy, and also encourage open conversations about mental health and the support available in the workplace.

Iain Kirkpatrick, chief executive officer of Market Harborough Building Society, said, “Through our Thrive Agenda, we promise to help our members, staff and community flourish. Signing the charter is a natural next step and shows our unwavering commitment to supporting our staff mental health. As we forge ahead to become best for brokers, we’ll continue to do what’s right for our employees’ wellbeing too.”
