Employee Benefits’ webinar, How important is women’s health at work?, is now available to watch for free on demand.
The webinar, in association with Peppy, was broadcast live at 11am on Wednesday 7 December.
Debbie Lovewell-Tuck, editor of Employee Benefits, was joined by Sam Blevins, health and wellbeing development manager at John Lewis Partnership, Debra Gardner, head of HR and ESG at LSL Property Services, Francesca Steyn, director of fertility and women’s health at Peppy, and Ellie Vaughan, head of reward and benefits at Herbert Smith Freehills.
The discussion explored how important women’s health is deemed to be in today’s workplaces, how employers can effectively support those experiencing menopause, fertility and pregnancy issues, and what they are offering in this area. The panellists also answered questions from attendees, providing thoughtful and useful solutions based on their real-life experience.
Along with a variety of health-related issues, life events and physical changes faced by women, the panel of experts discussed the fact that these topics can still be hidden or taboo in many workplaces, which can limit employees in accessing support, even when it is available.
Attendees were also able to hear how employers can implement strategies focused on women’s health, what support they can provide to employees around menopause, fertility, pregnancy and baby loss issues, how approaches have changed in recent years, and why educating all members of staff about women’s health issues is vital.
The webinar ended with a discussion about what other areas around women’s health employers should provide support on and what changes they would like to see for 2023.
