Biopharmaceutical organisation Vertex Pharmaceuticals and recruitment firm Gi Group have made the shortlist for Best benefits to support work-life balance and hybrid working at the Employee Benefits Awards 2023.
Newly created for 2023, this award recognises strategies that offer greater flexibility to help support employees manage their lives outside work, as well as their own wellbeing and wider workplace experience.
This could be through flexible working arrangements to enable employees to adapt their work around their external commitments while continuing to meet business needs; childcare vouchers, emergency or back-up care arrangements and on-site nurseries to reduce the strain of balancing work and care; or benefits that support a family-friendly environment, such as support for new or expectant parents, employee networks, enhanced parental leave, family events for staff and areas for breastfeeding.
Judges looked at how the various entries tailored their benefits strategy to support the varying needs of employees, and why these were appropriate for their particular workforce demographic, as well as the impact the strategy had on engagement, benefit take-up rates, recruitment and retention.
The full category shortlist is:
- Criteo
- EMIS
- Gi Group Holding
- Housing 21
- Vertex Pharmaceuticals
