Wellbeing and performance firm GoodShape has hired Dorothy Day as its chief people officer as part of its “progressive and impactful approach in building a high-performance culture”.

Day will become a member of GoodShape’s executive leadership team, reporting to chief executive officer Alun Baker. In her role, she will be responsible for setting and overseeing the execution of the business’ overall people strategy, including talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, learning and development, compensation, and benefits and wellbeing.

Day, who has more than 22 years of experience in commercial sector human resources, has a track record in driving strategic change to help purpose-led businesses grow sustainably, while also putting people at the heart of the strategy.

She was previously people and change director at Pall International, where she helped the leadership team build the right people strategies and infrastructure to drive growth and create a values-based culture that supported its purpose and mission.

Prior to this, Day led large-scale organisation re-design and culture change programmes at Boots, Weetabix, NFU Mutual and Dignity Funerals, as well as in-house resourcing teams across a variety of specialisms at E.ON.

Baker said: “It is essential our chief people officer can wear many hats: be a strategic thinker, an internal driver for the future of workplace wellbeing and an advocate and spokesperson for our strategy to disrupt the world of wellbeing. So, we’re delighted to welcome Dorothy Day to our senior leadership team. Her experience and vision will help fire GoodShape forwards as we strive to ensure that wellbeing is a boardroom priority, both in the UK and internationally.”

Day added: “I passionately believe that if you take your people with you, driving transformative change becomes much easier. I join GoodShape at a pivotal point in its journey as it officially puts wellbeing on the corporate agenda. For too long, many companies have paid lip-service to the concept. I’m thrilled to join a business dedicated to helping businesses create wellbeing strategies informed by data-led insight and measurement.”
