US banking organisation First National Bank, holiday property rental business Airbnb and American Airlines have been named as America's Greatest Workplaces for Parents and Families 2023.
Established by Newsweek and data firm Plant-A Insights Group, the list is put together using data from an employer study based on more than 224,000 reviews from over 36,000 parents and single parents. To qualify for the list, employers must be based in the US with at least 1,000 employees.
Respondents evaluated employers based on eight categories: organisation image, corporate culture, working environment, work-life balance, training and career progression, compensation and benefits, sustainability awareness and proactive management of a diverse workforce.
FNB Corporation and its largest subsidiary, First National Bank, were recognised for their differentiated workplace experience and the resources they provide to empower their employees to succeed.
Nancy Cooper, global editor in chief of Newsweek, said: “Employees at organisations with family-friendly policies such as flexible-working hours, parental leave, childcare support and eldercare assistance are less likely to feel overwhelmed with family responsibilities. Their employers benefit from stronger worker loyalty, improved talent retention and increased productivity. These 800 family-friendly employers are lauded by their employees for being great places to work. Congratulations to these employers and the families they support.”
Vincent J Delie, Jr, chairman, president and chief executive officer of FNB Corporation and First National Bank, added: “At FNB, one of our primary goals is to ensure that our employees and their families have access to a comprehensive suite of benefits so they can achieve work-life balance, care for loved ones, reach their education goals and prepare for a successful retirement. By maintaining our culture and providing superior benefits, we foster engagement and happiness for our employees, which, ultimately, contributes not only to the recognition we have earned both externally and from our team, but also in our financial success.”
