Procter and Gamble has named Bala Purushothaman (pictured) as chief human resources officer effective 1 January 2023.
He succeeded Tracey Grabowski, who retired at the end of the year after a career spanning more than 33 years.
Purushothaman will be responsible for developing and leading Procter and Gamble's people and organisation strategy across 70 countries, including the development of talent, capability, systems, and a culture.
Since 2020, Purushothaman worked as senior vice president of HR, global total rewards, employee and labour relations and corporate services.
Since starting as an intern in human resources at Procter and Gamble more than 30 years ago, Purushothaman has held positions of increasing responsibility at the country, region and global levels, while living and working across North America, Europe, and Asia. He joined as a management trainee in human resources in Mumbai, India and went on to work in several of the employer’s business units, including global grooming, global beauty and Gillette.
In a post on LinkedIn, Purushothaman said: “It is a tremendous [honour] for me to share that I will serve as the next chief human resources officer at Procter and Gamble.”
