The Coca-Cola Company has appointed Tapaswee Chandele global chief people officer, effective 1 May. 

Chandele will report to chief executive officer Henrique Braun and succeed Lisa Chang, who will step down after seven years.

She has been senior vice president and executive assistant to president and chief financial officer John Murphy, since May 2025. Prior to that, from 2019 to 2025, she was senior vice president of global talent, development and HR system partnerships, responsible for the worldwide talent management strategy. 

Chandele joined Coca-Cola in 2001 in her native India and worked in various HR and talent development roles. She was based in Türkiye and South Africa before moving to the US in 2017, and serves on the board of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages in India.

Prior to joining in 2019, Chang served as senior vice president and chief human resources officer for AMB Group, which includes AMB Sports and Entertainment, the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC and Mercedes-Benz Stadium. She led HR strategy for the launches of Atlanta United and the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. 

Before this, she held senior HR leadership roles at Equifax, Turner Broadcasting System, and The Weather Channel Companies.

A Coca-Cola Company spokesperson said: “Chang will stay with the organisation through the end of 2026 as a senior advisor, and will also serve on the board of The Coca-Cola Foundation.”
