American International Group (AIG) has recruited Kelly Lafnitzegger as executive vice president and chief human resources and diversity officer.
Lafnitzegger, who will take up the role from 1 June, will report to Peter Zaffino, chairman and chief executive officer, and will be a part of AIG’s executive leadership team. She will succeed Rose Marie Glazer, who has served as chief human resources and diversity officer since January 2022 and has transitioned to its general counsel.
Lafnitzegger will lead the group’s global human resources organisation with responsibility for aligning its talent strategy with its strategic and operational objectives. She will also oversee talent acquisition and management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, diversity, equity and inclusion, and global corporate citizenship.
Lafnitzegger joins AIG from GE Vernova, where she led the separation management office to support its spin-off from GE since 2022. Prior to this, she held a series of human resources leadership roles in GE’s corporate, capital, healthcare, global research, transportation and power divisions.
Lafnitzegger said: “I am honored to join AIG at this exciting time as its industry leadership is being recognised around the world. I look forward to joining Peter’s impressive executive leadership team and to working alongside AIG’s talented global HR team and across the company to deliver on our purpose and values on behalf our employees, clients, partners and many stakeholders.”
Zaffino added: “Kelly’s 30 years of experience at General Electric, along with her broad leadership track record of developing organisational and talent strategies that align with business objectives will be a valuable addition to AIG. I am pleased to welcome Kelly as we build on our momentum to become a top-performing global organisation. Retaining and attracting world-class talent with compelling career opportunities and meaningful professional development and advancement is a top priority.”
