PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) will discuss the key considerations for organisations ahead of the introduction of the gender pay gap reporting requirements at Employee Benefits Live 2016.

Anna Sanford, solicitor at PWC, will speak alongside Helen Corden, legal director at Pinsent Masons, in a session titled Mind the gender pay gap on Tuesday 11 October.

Sanford will talk through the content of the regulations, which employers they apply to, the calculations organisations will have to make to comply with the regulations, and the areas where organisations might want to go above and beyond the minimum requirements set out by the government.

During the session, Sanford will also discuss the areas of uncertainty that remain around the draft reporting regulations, which are yet to be published in their final format.

She will also look at the steps employers can take to examine the root causes of the gender pay gap and the action they can take to close the gap.

Sanford said: “[I hope those attending the session will go away with] an understanding of what the regulations will require and start thinking about what they will do, whether it’s the minimum required under these regulations or whether they are going to go further and explore the causes of their gap and take action to close this, as well as consider any narrative or explanation they might want to put around the calculations that they have to publish.”

Employee Benefits Live 2016 will take place on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 October at Olympia National London. Register to attend for free and view the full conference programme.
