Logistics business EV Cargo UK has appointed Wendy Dean as executive vice president of people, a newly created position that focuses on people, culture, diversity and inclusivity.
In the new role, Dean's responsibilities include working with the executive board to expand on the people strategy for the business, building a fresh approach for people management throughout the organisation by further developing and implementing the delivering better culture programme. She also enables the people function to grow with the business by aligning any acquisitions to the people strategy through being diverse and inclusive.
According to EV Cargo, Dean will be making sure that talent management is embedded into its culture, providing measurement tools and methods of development to help staff flourish and grow, ensuring that governance is in place regardless of location or business stream, and offering a low-risk approach to managing people. She will also be focusing on helping to make the business a “world class” employer by celebrating success, recognising achievement and helping people achieve their ambition while the company grows.
Before joining EV Cargo in June, Dean was HR director at FedEx UK.
Heath Zarin, founder and CEO of EV Cargo, explained that the company is on target to surpass $1.5 billion (£1.1 billion) of annual revenue, and that it continues to provide “excellent” service to its customers during an “incredibly challenging” time for global supply chains.
“Thanks to years of hard work by some of the brightest people I have ever worked with, EV Cargo enters this next phase of development from a position of strength, as we power the global economy by providing technology-enabled supply chain services. We are all very excited about our plans for growth and expansion and I am thrilled that we have managed to assemble such an incredible team of people,” he said.
