Ryanair

Airline group Ryanair has introduced an employee experience platform to help boost collaboration and engagement for its 19,000 members of staff across Europe.

Provided by Workvivo, the Ryanair employees working at airports, on aircraft or behind the scenes will be able to use the platform as their central portal, and their experience and communication hub.

All employees at 90 locations across 37 countries will have access to the latest organisation news, posts and operational resources, and can log on via mobile or desktop. It will also be used for internal recruitment, as Ryanair plans to create 2,000 new jobs in Ireland by 2030.

According to the airline, it has branded the platform in-house as Fleethub, which is now the fulcrum of all of its internal communications. Ryanair chose this platform due to its straightforward navigation capabilities.

The Workvivo platform allows for personalised communications, as well as providing mechanisms for employee recognition and motivation through awards and badges. Ryanair will also be able to use polls to collect feedback from staff and measure its cultural goals.

Eddie Wilson, chief executive officer (CEO) of Ryanair Designated Activity Company, said: “Quick communication with all of our people is essential, not only for disseminating information in a highly regulated environment, but it also brings informality through a social media format that our people are more familiar with.

"This allows all of our people to communicate with one another, share experiences and understand better what we are trying to achieve here at Ryanair in providing the lowest fares with the best punctuality record and most reliable service in Europe.”
