HR and recruitment firm Gi Group has been recognised with diversity and inclusion accolades at the British Recruitment Awards for its commitment to neurodiversity.

The firm was awarded the Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year award, as well as receiving high commendation in the Innovation of the Year category. It was recognised for the development of its ‘This is Me’ neuro guide, which was designed to foster understanding and collaboration between neurotypical and neurodivergent employees.

The guide, which was launched earlier this year, was developed with input from the group’s equity, diversity and inclusion team and Neuro ‘Real’ Models. Its aim is to address common misconceptions and advocate for an inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives through insights on neurodivergent experiences.

It also offers practical advice on language and communication, guidance on workplace adaptations and different types of neurodivergence, as well as tips for creating supportive environments.

Gi Group is a member of the Neurodiversity in Business pledge and is committed to creating opportunities for neurodivergent individuals across its operations. This has resulted in it integrating neurodiversity considerations into its hiring practices, staff training and internal policies, to create an inclusive environment where neurodivergent employees feel supported and empowered.

Emma-Louise Taylor, head of learning and development at Gi Group, said: “It’s incredibly rewarding to see our ‘This is Me’ initiative honoured at this level. This award is a testament to the passion and effort poured into creating a guide that opens doors for genuine understanding and inclusivity. We’re thrilled to see the positive impact it’s making for our clients and employees alike. This recognition reinforces our belief that when everyone feels valued, both people and organisations thrive.”

Pete Taylor, managing director at Gi Group, added: “Winning these awards is a huge endorsement of our commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace. ‘This is Me’ reflects our dedication to celebrating the strengths of neurodiversity, and I couldn’t be prouder of our team’s pioneering work. By embracing neurodiversity, we are not just supporting individuals; we’re enhancing our business with fresh perspectives that drive innovation.”
