Citigroup has established a childcare voucher scheme hoping to attract 10% of its 11,000 UK workforce.

Damien Teisseire, European head of pensions and benefits at the global financial services group, said that he hoped such a perk would be of real value to staff.

The voucher scheme was rolled out in April following the tax changes and has so far seen around 4% of staff take part.

The firm, which holds two employee benefit fairs for staff per year, has also introduced a concierge service, which has been well received.

"It's there if they need a plumber, or to go round the world in 80 days or whatever," Teisseire said.

He added that Citigroup hoped to introduce a flexible benefits plan next year.
