Dudley Beacon and Castle and Dudley South Primary Care Trusts have relaunched their childcare voucher schemes to coincide with National Childcare Week.
The trusts, which are to merge later this year wanted to use the week, which ran from 5-11 June, to raise the profile of the perk among their 2,500 staff. They have moved the Busy Bees scheme online for the first time.
Julie Latham, child and family care co-ordinator for the trusts, said: "We want to make marketing and promotion a priority. By putting details online, and in payslips, we're achieving this."
Take-up was low when the schemes first launched last year, but this has steadily increased. "Take-up was low to begin with. Just three employees opted for the vouchers, but since we have improved the way we communicate, the number has steadily risen. We now have 44 staff involved and want to see this reach 100 by the end of the year," added Latham.
