Jane Earnshaw, senior director of reward at Asda, will give delegates an insight into the retailer’s company-wide recognition scheme at Employee Benefits Live.

In the session, titled ‘Motivation and recognition schemes to drive productivity’, Earnshaw will demonstrate how the organisation has developed its recognition scheme over the past 15 years, particularly over the past two years as this has moved online.

Earnshaw said: “Recognition is one of the biggest tools in our armoury, to recognise and say thank you to our employees.

“[The session] will be a little bit of taking [delegates] on the journey, and how we’ve tried to get to the fact that it’s more than just about the monetary element.

“It’s adding the celebration around it and trying to be, where possible, instantaneous and relevant. It’s not easy when you’re dealing with 600 different shops and different management teams, but that’s what we’re trying to develop.”

Employee Benefits Live will be held at Olympia National in London on 24 and 25 September 2014.
