Virgin Hotels Collection has appointed Johanna Kent chief people officer.

Kent joins the executive team with more than 27 years of experience. Her appointment is part of Virgin Hotels Collection’s commitment to attracting top talent and fostering innovation within the hospitality industry.

She has cultivated employee experiences and achieved goals in talent acquisition, leadership development, and fostering inclusive workplace cultures. She will also align HR strategies with business objectives and foster positive workplace cultures to ensure the organisation's success.

Kent most recently led the people and culture team at Virgin Orbit, driving a 40% growth in headcount and successfully navigating complex challenges including a special purpose acquisition company transaction. Prior to this, at Mattel, she spearheaded global initiatives such as a large-scale reorganisation, the acquisition and integration of a $175 million (£135.9 million) business, and provided front-line HR support for more than 1,800 employees.
