US accounting and tax organisation Marks Paneth is to introduce a new paid parental leave policy for its 600 employees, providing staff with up to six weeks of fully-paid parental leave.
Effective from 1 January 2017, the organisation-wide policy is applicable for primary caregivers as well as non-primary caregivers who have been employed by Marks Paneth for at least one year. This includes new mothers, fathers and adoptive parents of children under the age of 18.
Steven Sacks, director of human resources at Marks Paneth, said: “We strive to empower our employees with an environment conducive to professional and personal fulfilment.
“We believe the addition of this parental leave programme to our employee benefits package will better enable our professionals to actively participate in this very important part of their children’s lives.”
