Specialist recruitment firm, Joss Search, has transferred to an employee ownership trust (EOT).

The employer announced the transition as part of its goal of achieving shared success and to foster a culture of enterprise and ownership.

The transaction allows existing employees to exercise the enterprise management incentives (EMI) share options. The organisation has 43 employees across UK, New York and Germany.

Ben Heathorn, executive chair of Joss Search, said: “An EOT is perfectly aligned with our values and allows us to secure our future and continue to build a legacy whilst enabling us to retain operational control and the freedom to enhance our unique culture.

“Now that all our current and future employees are beneficiaries of the trust, there is a greater incentive for people to take even more ownership, provide an even better service for our clients and candidates and ensure we’re all pulling in the same direction to drive long-term value for the business and, in turn, individual employees.

“The additional financial benefits for employees that are offered by being an EOT are the icing on the cake and made the decision a no brainer for us.”
