Around 30 Sodexo employees based at the Sullom Voe oil and gas terminal have accepted a two-year pay and conditions deal.
The workers, who are based in the Shetland Islands and are members of trade union Unite, are mechanics, cleaners, plant operators, and electricians.
They will receive a 4% pay rise backdated to April 2025, as well as a matching increase for the next year, which will come into effect in April 2026.
The deal includes the retention of an attendance bonus worth up to £1,000 for each year. The workers will also each receive a one-off cost-of-living payment worth up to £1,225 based on hours worked in 2025.
Industrial action was overwhelmingly voted for by the workers after they rejected a previous offer. A series of 24-hour strikes took place on 7, 12, 14, 21 and 28 January. Planned action was due to take place on 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25 and 27 February, before it was called off while staff were balloted.
Sharon Graham, general secretary at Unite, said: “Sodexo workers at Sullom Voe have secured a good pay win which was only achieved through Unite’s membership remaining strong and resolute throughout the dispute. It’s a great example of workers uniting to win better jobs, pay and conditions.”
Vic Fraser, industrial officer at Unite, added: “Unite has successfully resolved the pay dispute with Sodexo down to one simple fact, which is that our members stood firm. The dispute at Sullom Voe is now over and we are pleased our members overwhelmingly backed the improved offer.”
Sodexo was contacted for comment prior to publication.
A separate dispute involving 60 painter and insulator Altrad contractors at Sullom Voe has also been resolved after workers accepted an improved pay offer over two years.
