Sushi and bento restaurant chain Wasabi has introduced an employee engagement programme for its UK staff, including a recognition scheme and access to a range of voluntary benefits.
The new programme, provided by Perkbox, gives employees access to benefits such as retail and leisure discounts, including attraction day passes, discounted MOTs, and corporate rates for gym access. These benefits can be redeemed 24/7 online via a computer, tablet or mobile device.
In addition, Wasabi will provide staff with access to a wellness hub which aims to enhance financial, emotional and physical wellbeing. It offers online classes in yoga, healthy cooking, exercise, and meditation, and includes a 24-hour assistance helpline.
Employees will also be automatically enrolled into a gamified reward and recognition system, which allows for peer-to-peer and top-down recognition.
Nina Gothberg, human resources director at Wasabi, said: “Our sushi makes us special, but it’s our great team that helps us to stand head and shoulders above our competition.
“The range of perks on offer [through the programme] means there is something for everyone, and it is a simple, easy-to-use way to show our team that they are really valued. We are confident that investing in employees will help us to maintain the high levels of efficiency and customer service that we pride ourselves on, especially as we grow within the UK and beyond.”
