Christmas party

Employee Benefits poll: Two-fifths (39%) of organisations are holding a Christmas party as the main gift to employees this festive season.

A straw poll of www.employeebenefits.co.uk readers, which received 74 responses, also found that gift card/vouchers (19%) and hampers/physical gifts (18%) were popular main gifts supplied by employers.

Additional time off is being offered to 16% of respondents, while only 8% are receiving a monetary reward/bonus.

Recent research of 1,500 office-based employees by Instantprint found that 94% of employees want to receive a gift from their employers in order to feel valued, appreciated and happy.

Nearly a third (29%) of respondents wanted a gift voucher, and the same percentage favoured an early finish. A fifth (20%) said they would appreciate a free bar at their organisation’s Christmas party, 10% wanted a physical gift, and 7% said they would like a charitable donation to be made in their name.
