Supermarket Asda has announced that it will award 9,500 salaried employees with a bonus payment.

Staff members, including head office workers and senior leaders in stores, will receive the payment at the end of March. For some, it will be 26.5% of the maximum bonus that could be earned at a particular grade. To be eligible, salaried employees will have joined before 1 October 2025.

Each salaried worker has a maximum bonus they can earn, which will vary depending on their job grade. For example, if an employee has a maximum bonus potential of 20%, the most they will receive as a bonus payment if they hit all their targets is 20% of their base salary.

Staff members who met their objectives for the year will be granted their entire bonuses, while workers who did not will receive just over a quarter of their full bonus.

An Asda spokesperson said: “In recognition of all the hard work undertaken during the first year of our turnaround, we have confirmed that all eligible salaried employees will receive a thank you bonus in their March pay. This has been well received.”

Asda also offers its employees eight free physiotherapy consultations a year for them and their partner, 15% staff discount, discounts on other Asda products, a free 24/7 remote GP service for them, their partner and children, a car cash allowance for eligible staff, a salary sacrifice electric car scheme, free eye tests, and a bikes-for-work scheme.

It also provides financial support, mortgage advice, a free 24/7 confidential support helpline, cancer support, mental health support, hybrid working, life assurance, high street discounts, and a holiday buying scheme.
