J Murphy Employee Benefits

Dawn Moore (pictured), group director of people and communications at J Murphy and Sons and Julia Diggs, director of people experience at Ovo, will take part in a panel about the best places to work at Employee Benefits Live 2023.

Titled What makes a company ‘the best place to work’?, the session will take place on Wednesday 4 October at 11am in Theatre One.

Part of the conference’s HR and benefits strategy stream, it will be chaired by Employee Benefits editor Debbie Lovewell-Tuck and will focus on how employers can be recognised as a best place to work through practical tips and advice related to what worked for the panellists and how they received recognition.

Moore will discuss how the group was recognised as a best company to work for earlier this year, which was the result of a three-year trajectory it undertook.

“I’ll be talking about our whole package, including reward and benefits and how to make them as holistic and inclusive as possible and being creative with them,” she said. “I’ll also discuss how we’ve increased our employee engagement using the feedback we received from the ground up, and how to supplement a standard benefits offering.”

She hopes delegates attending the session will take away the idea that having inclusion in mind is important and that while a one-size-fits-all approach might be easy, it is not one that will make an employer the best place to work.

“The answers are in a workforce, employers should harness what they already have. It isn’t a journey that should cost a lot of money, as long as you have a clear strategy for involving people in the solution and engaging them with it,” Moore added.

Employee Benefits Live 2023 will take place on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 October 2023 at ExCeL London. The event, which is Europe’s largest dedicated reward and benefits event, will offer more than 1,500 compensation, benefits and HR professionals the opportunity to learn from, and be inspired by, leading figures in the industry and the initiatives they have successfully carried out.
