Retail organisation Asda has added e-vouchers to its employee reward and recognition programme for 150,000 UK employees.
Employees can earn e-vouchers, which were introduced on 13 October 2017 as part of the organisation’s Asda Stars recognition programme, by receiving star points from line managers or by taking part in ad-hoc incentives. Employees are then able to redeem their e-vouchers to spend in Asda stores alongside their current staff discount card.
The e-voucher initiative, which was designed to improve the reward experience for staff, has attracted over £33,000 worth of redemptions since its launch.
Employees can earn rewards and nominate peers for recognition under the programme via a website or a mobile app. Currently, 70,000 employees are registered for the scheme, which is provided by River, and since the mobile app was launched to employees in 2016, there has been a 365% increase in active participants.
Angela Woodward, reward manager at Asda, said: “We are thrilled with the feedback from stores since the launch of the e-vouchers. Managers now have a way of rewarding teams instantly, [employees] can redeem these rewards really easily and it’s really going to make a difference to [employee] engagement.”
