Something for the weekend: US comedian Kevin Hart has overtaken Jerry Seinfield to claim the top spot on Forbes’ The world’s highest-paid comedians 2016 list.
Hart earned $87.5m (£67.5m) between June 2015 and June 2016, trouncing Seinfield’s $43.5m (£33.5m).
Amy Schumer, the only woman in the list, ranks in fourth place with $17m (£13.1m). This is the first time that a female comedian has featured in the top 10.
The UK’s John Bishop comes in tenth on the list with earnings of $7m (£5.4m).
Between them, the top 10 highest-paid comedians raked in $233.5m (£180m) in June 2015-June 2016. Their earnings came from a number of areas, including tours, films, TV appearances, DVD sales, and endorsements.
