The Sports4Rewards service will facilitate club members offsetting the cost of their memberships against rewards on everyday shopping bills, leisure and travel services, high-street shops, home and garden stores and supermarkets.
The scheme is being rolled out to the first three participating clubs, with members from Mentmore Golf and Country Club in Bedfordshire, Hamptworth Golf and Country Club in Wiltshire and Studley Wood Golf Club in Oxfordshire becoming the first to receive their Sports4Rewards information packs at launch events this month.
Club members will receive a personalised letter, membership pack and personalised Sports4Rewards card, taking the administration away from the sports club. Members then access all of the Sports4Rewards benefits via a website branded with their club’s branding. This website will host local advertising, ensuring there is no participation cost for clubs involved, giving them the opportunity to add value to their membership proposition free of charge.
The solution has been designed with membership acquisition and retention in mind, as managing director of 25 Consultancy Colin Surman explains: ‘The club boosts its membership, and the member offsets their annual subs by reducing their shopping bills. It works, and we believe Sports4Rewards is going to be very popular among sports club operators looking to improve their profitability through strengthening their membership.’
