Energy supplier People’s Energy Company has hired Louise Finlayson as its new chief people officer.
This is a promotion for Finlayson, who joined the company in October 2020 as director of HR and development. Her new role will involve leading teams through all stages of the employee lifecycle to attract, develop and retain talent, and ensuring the company can maximise the potential of its people to deliver the best possible service for members.
Additionally, Finlayson will continue to work across the business to bring company culture and values to life, as well as prioritise employee wellbeing.
According to People’s Energy, Finlayson was a “clear choice” for this new role as she has already established close relationships with staff across the company during her former position.
David Pike, joint CEO and co-founder, explained that bringing experienced and talented professionals is an absolute must in what is a highly competitive industry, and that Finlayson will assist the business in building an energy company that fights for people, by making energy affordable for all.
Karin Sode, co-founder and joint CEO of People’s Energy, added that the number of company employees is constantly growing, so it is “crucial” to ensure that People’s Energy is somewhere people want to stay and progress into the future.
“Seeing clear development and career paths within the business is a hugely important part of this, and the newly created role will be a welcome addition to the company. Louise is ideally suited to help us ensure People’s Energy is a great place to work. She brings huge experience from both HR roles in large companies and from providing consultancy support to senior leaders in a range of FTSE100 companies. She is insightful, experienced and talented, and we are delighted that she has chosen to work with us,” she said.
