Housing association Hanover Scotland has received gold accreditation for its commitment and dedication to employee health and wellbeing from Investors in People.
To obtain the accreditation, the organisation went through an assessment process that focused on various aspects of workplace wellbeing. It scored well in areas such as leadership, support, and continuous improvement of its wellbeing practices.
These include a comprehensive wellbeing programme featuring a range of interactive initiatives and events to help support conversations on mental wellbeing, financial wellbeing and menopause. The association has also invested in its wellbeing support networks, a new employee assistance programme, a benefits platform, health cash plan and technology scheme.
It was also recognised for its wellbeing share point site that provides employees with easy access to resources and support across five wellbeing pillars. The site hosts recordings from wellbeing events and activities to ensure all employees can engage with and benefit from the wellbeing programmes.
According to Hanover Scotland, the accreditation affirms its status as a customer-focused provider in the social housing sector with a healthy, supportive, and dynamic workplace that contributes to its strategic aim of providing exceptional social housing services.
By fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace, Hanover aims to demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for its people, ensuring that wellbeing is interwoven into the fabric of its operations. It believes that being proactive and having an engaging approach helps to enhance the health and wellbeing of its employees.
Angela Currie, chief executive officer of Hanover Scotland, said: “This gold accreditation from Investors in People is not just a recognition of our existing efforts, but a catalyst for our future endeavours in enhancing employee wellbeing.
