Property advisory business Gerald Eve has become the first firm in the sector to offer its staff the ‘Peppy’ support service.
Peppy – an app-based healthcare and wellbeing provision delivered on smartphones – helps guide employees through challenging times, such as the menopause, fertility issues and parenthood.
Services provided via the app include access to one-to-one instant messaging with expert practitioners, virtual appointments, live broadcast events, vetted resources and toolkits, and mental wellbeing programmes.
Helen Foley, HR director at Gerald Eve, said: “We are always looking at new ways to give our employees the support they need. Peppy will be a key tool to help people through these transformative life moments.
“Fertility, parenthood and the menopause are areas that many of us will have first-hand experience of, and yet they create issues that often go undiscussed and unaddressed.
She added: “By giving staff access to Peppy, we hope to make it that much easier for them to navigate these moments, and help them in both their home and work life.”
Recent research by Health and Her found 14 million days are lost each year due to employers not being supportive of staff going through the menopause. It also discovered that almost a third of working women in the core ‘menopause age’ (between 50 and 64) admit to reluctantly taking time out of the working week to alleviate their symptoms.
Mridula Pore, CEO and co-founder of Peppy, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Gerald Eve. By giving their people access to specialist fertility, parenthood and menopause support, they reinforce their position as leaders in the world of employee benefits."
