Employee benefits provider Unum UK has implemented an exercise and wellbeing benefit to its more than 850 UK-based employees.
All Unum employees can now access discounted gym membership at more than 3,700 health clubs through Incorpore's GymFlex and MyGymDiscounts schemes, virtual fitness platforms, health assessments and clinics through the HealthiFlex and MyHealthDiscounts schemes, and a variety of home testing kits for intolerances and allergies.
Employees can also create a personalised health and wellbeing package that meets their lifestyle, health and budget needs. They are also able to flex their options should their circumstances change. In addition, they can learn more about their current health status, how to recognise early warning signs, and identify sustainable lifestyle changes and healthy habits that can be assessed on a regular basis.
The benefit is part of Unum’s ongoing commitment to prioritise employees’ health and wellbeing and is aimed at encouraging them to take control of their physical health and fitness goals.
Jane Hulme, HR director at Unum UK, said: “Over the last year, the UK economy lost 185.6 million working days to due sickness or injury. We wanted to take proactive steps to help protect the health, happiness and wellbeing of all our employees, aiming to cut this risk and help our people stay well and bring their whole selves to work. We’re delighted to be strengthening our benefits offering yet again by introducing Incorpore, who share our passion for creating a bespoke approach to healthier workforces.”
Last month, Unum UK enhanced its pregnancy loss support and signed the Miscarriage Association’s pregnancy loss pledge to help staff affected by loss before 24 weeks of pregnancy.
