Hala launches benefits platform to support 2,000 staff

Hala Group, which operates 74 Domino’s pizza stores across the UK, has launched a wellbeing platform to support its 2,000 UK employees.

The platform, which is provided by Perkbox, offers staff access to a range of benefits and tools designed to help individuals manage their physical, emotional, mental, social and financial wellbeing. These include retail discounts, free online exercise classes and a free monthly coffee, among others.

The platform will sit alongside Hala Group’s existing benefits package, which includes long-service recognition awards, local competitions and charitable engagements, offering prizes and team social events. The organisation also hosts an annual black tie awards event in order to recognise employee excellence, as well as activities such as its Fastest Pizza Maker Competition, which saw staff from across its framchises compete to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas.

Gemma Lane, HR coordinator at Hala Group, said: “It is important to show our appreciation for the hard work that our staff put in throughout the year, especially through the Coronavirus pandemic where our stores have remained open to serve our local communities. We want to continue rewarding the incredible work of our team and this has been particularly important during this difficult period. It is important that our staff feel valued for the effort that they put into providing a great service and hot, fresh pizzas to our customers.

“We like to encourage a supportive and friendly culture within our stores and hope that by rewarding staff, they will maintain a positive attitude at work and continue providing an outstanding service.

“With Domino’s being a global brand, a level of professionalism is important but we still want our employees to enjoy coming to work and being a part of the Hala family. We are an organisation run by its people, for its people. At its heart, Hala has always been a family organisation, and will culturally remain so in the future. We have seen staff grow from in-store team members to regional operations directors and are lucky enough to have whole families who are part of our team.”
