Gymshark hires chief people officer

Fitness and apparel brand Gymshark has recruited Laura Hagan (pictured) to join the business in January 2023 as its new chief people officer.

Hagan will be responsible for ensuring Gymshark attracts the right talent to enable sustainable growth. She will report directly to founder and chief executive officer Ben Francis.

Hagan spent more than four years as chief HR officer at Tate and Lyle, and worked for more than 11 years at Dyson before becoming its global HR director.

Hagan said: “I’ve always been passionate about the impact that brilliant talent has on the success of every business. It was clear as soon as I met Ben and the team at Gymshark, that its people are a key priority alongside innovation and ambitious growth. I can’t wait to get started and work with all parts of the business to attract the best possible talent to this incredibly exciting brand and to enable its future success.”

Francis added: “Since day one of Gymshark, our people have always been, and always will be, our most important and powerful asset. That will never change. Laura shares that view with us, which is why I’m so happy to welcome her to the fold.

“Her hunger for rapid innovation and commercial growth with a laser focus on talent and performance was plain to see. I am so impressed by her passion both about the impact that brilliant talent has on the success of every business as well as equitable access to opportunity. She’s a stellar addition to our team.”
