Something for the weekend: Group travel specialist The Group Company is offering new recruits the opportunity to join its current team of 35 in Barbados for a luxurious weekend away in 2020.
The organisation is currently on the lookout for four new starters within its tours, reservations and business development teams, and is actively recruiting for a product executive, administrator, business development manager and a part-time tours administrator. Successful applicants will join the organisation just in time to take part in its annual holiday to Barbados.
Interested applicants should be quick to apply and check their passports are up-to-date, as applications will close at midnight on 2 December 2019, with the trip scheduled for January 2020.
This is not the first time the York-based organisation has offered staff this extravagant travel benefit. In 2016, having been told they were set for Yorkshire's zoo and theme park Flamingo Land, all of its then 32 employees were taken to Barbados to celebrate the business' 10-year anniversary. Once there, they enjoyed the not-so-typical team-bonding activities of a catamaran trip, go-karting, an island safari, paddle boarding and beach dining.
The idea was originally created by Helen Bilton, chief executive officer at The Group Company, to celebrate a 50% year-on-year growth since it was founded in February 2006, and has been brought back this year as a way of rewarding staff for all their hard work in 2019.
Naomi Stewart, managing director at The Group Company, said: “Barbados has now become our go-to destination for our grandest celebrations. We reward staff throughout the year, but this trip will truly showcase our appreciation for all of our teams’ hard work.
“We encourage a thriving environment where every employee has the chance to travel. That’s why we offer two free flights anywhere in the world after five years’ service. We also offer travel sabbaticals and fantastic opportunities for personal development."
Here at Employee Benefits, we love the idea of being whisked away to sunnier climes, although we would not say no to a trip to Flamingo Land either...
