Fidelity International enhances parental leave policies globally for 7,284 employees

Investment management services provider Fidelity International has introduced an enhanced parental leave policy for all of its 7,284 employees in 27 global locations.

The enhanced policy allows fathers and secondary carers to receive the same paid leave entitlement as mothers and primary carers for children who are born or are adopted on, or after 1 September 2020.

This new policy will offer up to 26 weeks paid leave for each parent within the first 12 months of the child's arrival.

In the UK, employees will see an increase of 20 weeks paid parental leave from the previous six weeks of paid leave that was previously offered to fathers and secondary carers before this enhanced policy was introduced. Working fathers and secondary parents in India and Ireland who previously received two weeks of paid parental leave will see the highest increase of 24 weeks to receive 26 weeks of paid leave.

Anne Richards, chief executive at Fidelity International, said: “We want to be a market leader and offer an inclusive culture where all our people may spend time caring for their children and thrive in their careers. We are therefore delighted to be announcing our new parental leave policy and are especially proud to be offering this globally to all our employees.”
