Hutchison 3G will discuss the impact of technology on employee benefits at Employee Benefits Live 2016.

Paul Bissell (pictured), head of reward at Hutchison 3G, will take to the stage on day two of the London-based event, as part of the benefits technology conference stream.

In a session entitled 'Reward and benefits in the digital age', Bissell will examine the impact of social media, and how this is being used to engage and communicate with staff.

In light of the shift to a technologically-enabled, multi-generational workforce, Bissell will also look at the use of mobile apps, discussing where they can be used most effectively and what they can be used for. He will also outline how digital can be used for staff recognition.

Bissell said: “It’s the way in which [employees] access and engage with the package that is changing so rapidly. I think that once upon a time, the biggest problems that [organisations] had to overcome with communication was the fact that perhaps a lot of their workforce didn’t have laptop or desktop PCs to be able to communicate via and show offerings via.

"Nowadays there are more smart phones in the UK than there are people, so the method of communication changed fundamentally and I’m not sure everybody is taking full advantage of that.

“But if [employers] do, the opportunities for engagement, the opportunities for people to understand and interact with their rewards and benefits is infinitely better now than it ever has been and it’s only going to get better in the future.”

Employee Benefits Live 2016 will take place on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 October at Olympia National, London. Register to attend here.
