E.On is amalgamating its flexible and voluntary benefits schemes under one provider and is launching online total reward statements (TRS).
The energy firm, which employs 17,500 staff in the UK, previously had its schemes administered by two providers, but both will now be supplied by Benefex.
Ant Donaldson, senior employee benefits specialist, said the schemes had become out of date. "We know there is confusion between the flex and voluntary schemes, but we are hoping that having them under one roof will make it much clearer," he said.
The voluntary benefits plan, My Choice Everyday, will launch this month with improved discounts and a new E.On-branded website to access them.
Benefits fairs were held in October to promote the revamped scheme. "We also had a big push on childcare vouchers," said Donaldson. "Take-up has improved in recent years, but there are some groups who do not use them. We want staff to get involved by 2011 to make the most of the tax breaks."
The new flex scheme and online TRS will go live in February 2010. New flex perks will include tax-efficient bus passes and experience days.
