E.On is set to launch an auto-enrolment management system to comply with its staging date of 1 April.

The system, Enroller, provided by Benefex, will be available to all 12,000 UK employees, including 3,500 who are not currently pension scheme members.

The utilities firm has offered a group personal pension (GPP) plan since 2008. It offers matched employer contributions, up to a maximum of 12%. For instance, if the employee contributes 6% to the scheme, E.On matches it with 12%. Employees can make contributions via a salary sacrifice arrangement.

Ant Donaldson, senior HR specialist for employee benefits at E.On, said that the organisation has always actively promoted pensions to employees.

He added: “Last year we achieved the Pensions Quality Mark Plus, which helped to reinforce the quality of our scheme.

“Auto-enrolment now provides a real opportunity to engage our employees in long-term savings and our pension plan.”

Matt Waller, founder and chief executive officer at Benefex, added: “The team at E.On has looked to do some very exciting things in response to the auto-enrolment challenge.

“It has been great to work with a team that is not only focused on being compliant, but also on creating real benefit for their organisation and employees.”
