Technology firm Lenovo, energy technology business Baker Hughes and law firm Clifford Chance have been named as some of the UK’s Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion 2024.
Established by the Disability Equality Index, the list is a comprehensive benchmarking tool used by employers to measure disability workplace inclusion. Employers are assessed on their disability inclusion practices and those that receive a score of 80 or above are included in the list.
Lenovo has ranked on the index in the US for four years and has made the list for the first time this year for its disability inclusion in the UK and Brazil. It has been recognised for its commitment to ensuring accessibility and inclusion are instilled in its workforce and for its employee resource groups.
These include A Better Lenovo for Everyone in North America and Asia Pacific, People with Disability in Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Lenovo Inclusion Plus in Latin America, aiming to cultivate a culture of disability inclusion by fostering awareness, providing resources and encouraging innovation.
Calvin Crosslin, human resources vice president, chief diversity officer, and Lenovo Foundation President at Lenovo, said: “I’m proud to see Lenovo’s continued commitment to accessibility and best practices in the US, and happy to see recognition in the UK and Brazil.
“It’s truly our employee resource groups that continue to be the catalyst for inclusion at Lenovo. They inspire and inform our programmes such as the product diversity office, business diversity and philanthropy, while empowering the system-level changes driven by our diversity and inclusion team. While this award helps our business shine, it could not be accomplished without our strong culture of inclusion in the workplace.”
