Alcohol brand Jägermeister, travel firm Virgin Atlantic and Zopa Bank have been named as some of the UK’s Top 100 Most Loved Workplaces 2023.
The list is put together by Newsweek in collaboration with leadership development and benchmark research organisation Best Practice Institute (BPI) after surveying more than 600,000 employees at firms with workforces varying from 10 to more than 5,000 workers.
Employers are recognised for workplaces where employees feel respected, inspired and appreciated and are ranked depending on how well they demonstrate key areas mentioned within BPI’s Spark Model. These consist of positive vision of the future, alignment of values, respect, killer achievement, systemic collaboration, how engaged employees are, how positive they feel about their workplace, and how committed they are to the organisation’s success.
The judges commented that Jägermeister UK is a family-run business that focuses on authenticity, and provides plenty of social and networking opportunities. With above average salaries and benefits, employees said they are empowered to succeed by leadership that responds to their needs.
Katie Benham, head of HR at Jägermeister UK, said: “We are thrilled to have been included in the top 100 list of the UK’s Most Loved Workplaces and to be leading the way within our sector. We work hard to prioritise the happiness of the Jägermeister workforce and build an environment where our team feel they can thrive and establish long-lasting careers. We’re usually known for being the UK’s number one shot brand rather than our great workplace, so we are proud to be recognised for both our dedication and efforts in this area.”
Louis Carter, founder and chief executive officer of BPI and Most Loved Workplace, added: “Attracting and retaining top talent continues to be a challenge and top priority of executive leadership. The companies on this list have committed to listening intently to their employees and then creating a better workplace where employees love to come to work.”
