Employees at Domestic and General raised £967 for Comic Relief in addition to taking over £100,000 in donation pledges through phone calls.

Funds were raised through a quiz, a dress down day and a larger-than-life Scalextric challenge.

In addition, over 150 volunteers took donation pledges on Friday 18 March from 7pm until midnight at the call centre. Volunteers included employees, and their friends and family members.

Stuart Falconer, a Domestic and General employee who volunteered to take calls on the night, said: “There was such a great atmosphere in the call centre when we were taking calls.

“We all know it is for such a worthy cause and that every donation will make a difference to projects in the UK and Africa.”

Deborah Martin, site operations manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted with what we have achieved for Comic Relief. We took nearly 4,000 calls from the public making donations on the night.

“We are really proud of our employees who donated their time and energy to take calls and I would like to thank everyone involved.”
