UK Power Networks, Touchstone and Which? have been named as some of the UK’s most inclusive employers in the 2024/2025 Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers Index.

The list, which is compiled by Inclusive Companies and was announced at the 2024 Inclusive Awards, ranks employers that consistently encompass diversity throughout their whole organisation. Judging is undertaken by a panel of diversity and inclusion experts.

The assessment requires organisations to show consistent and sustainable activity regarding what they have achieved in the past year. Those that have done well in previous years must show their progress and evidence of improvements each year.

UK Power Networks claimed the top spot, moving up one place from 2023, while Touchstone moved from third to second place. The energy supplier was recognised due to its Everyone Matters diversity training programme and neurodiversity champions.

The top 10 IT50 employers for 2024/2025 are:

  1. UK Power Networks
  2. Touchstone
  3. Which?
  4. United Utilities
  5. West Midlands Fire Service
  6. Auto Trader UK
  7. Financial Services Compensation Scheme
  8. The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  9. Mitie
  10. Inspire North

Andrew Pace, director of HR at UK Power Networks, said: “We are incredibly proud to be recognised as the UK’s most inclusive employer. This achievement reflects our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered. Our initiatives, such as the diversity and inclusion dashboards, the Everyone Matters programme, and neurodiversity training, are just a few examples of how we are creating an environment where all employees can thrive.”

Paul Sesay, founder and chief executive officer of Inclusive Companies, added: “Each year, we receive hundreds of entries from organisations which submit a huge amount of evidence in respect of their inclusive practices, covering a wide range of areas and topics. Our judging panel has the challenging task of looking at all areas of diversity, including age, culture, disability, ethnicity, gender, LGBTQ+ and religion, before discussing their findings and agreeing which organisations make the top 50 and where they place on the list.”
